AirLink and OculusLink not working and breaking PC software after first try

So I'm going to guide you around my problem as a step-by-step list. I'm using an HP Pavilion with Windows 11, one intel GPU and one MX250 GPU.

  • Open Oculus software
  • Connect cable if doing cable version / Connect with airlink
  • Launch link from oculus
  • ----- No problem until here ----
  • Screen gets black with 3 white dots for a second and a half, 2 seconds
  • Then it goes back to the virtual environment.

After that, you cannot try again as airlink won't let you connect to the PC and the oculus link with cable won't even appear as an option on the quest 2.

If you try to do anything with the oculus software after that it won't work, not even the X button to close the window, and you have to close all the clients with the task manager to try again.

I'm out of ideas, as I was sure it was a cable issue, but it doing the same with AirLink tells me that it may be either a quest2 or a pc issue.

AKA: I've got it working in another PC once, but not my own.
