Display port to HDMI adapter?

Hey, I was wondering if I could use a adapter since my GPU doesn't have a Displayport and I really don't want to have to wait until I get a new GPU.
This is the adapter I found: https://amzn.to/2JCH09W

No, Oculus said that HDMI adapters won't work.

Will DP > thunderbolt 3 work? I've heard rumors but I'm not entirely sure

Not possible.  HDMI can't handle the bandwidth

Not true. HDMI 2.0 is perfectly capable of running 2560x1440@144Hz, otherwise the WMR headsets wouldn't work, and they use the same resolution or higher.

The HDMI 2.0 spec does have the bandwidth, the issue is that the adapters do not. At least that is the story.

OFF-TOPIC but do USB C Adapters work?

For laptops maybe, see the link I posted above.

That's correct. I've encountered some exotic things out there like this:

But it doesn't have a wide enough range of settings to do the job. And I'm not spending $200.00 to test it or the other exotic adapters that work similarly.
