Oculus link crashes constantly

My oculus link crashes about every 2 minutes, Ive done all the driver updates, repaired oculus app, reinstalled oculus app, factory reset headset, none of it worked.

Hey @SpicyPancakeMafia! We know PCVR constantly crashing can be discouraging and a bit time consuming so we'd be glad to lend a hand! 

 

To get a better grasp on the situation, please answer the following:

 

  • When was this first noticed?
  • Has Link worked before, or is this the first time being used?
  • What all have you tried? (So to not repeat anything)
  • Is your PC Link compatible?
    • Could you provide your specs? (RAM, OS version, GPU type and version, CPU type and version)

 

When you reinstalled the Oculus app, was it with the steps below? (If so, please disregard these steps)

 

  1. Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer.
  2. Disconnect your computer from the internet.
  3. Backup any necessary content.
    • You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
  4. Reboot into Safe Mode.
  5. Uninstall Oculus Home using the Control Panel.
  6. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files
  7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    • C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
  8. Restart your computer in normal mode.
  9. Reconnect your computer to the internet.
  10. Install Oculus Home again using the setup tool from our website here.
  11. Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset.

 

Once we have this information, we can look into some other possibilities to try out!
