the oculus software does not detect my oculus quest 2 despite the oculus link cable

hello, I recently bought the oculus link cable to be able to use vr on my pc where the problem is that the software asks me to connect my headphones using the cable, although I have turned on, restarted, disconnected the cable and putting it back the page does not change and prevents me from clicking on the continue button, it is still loading constantly as if it did not detect my helmet

(small precision: the cable is that of another brand compatible with the oculus quest 2)

2 questions.

 

Did you disable airlink on the headset?

 

Did you plug it in to USB 3.0 port?

@Glitchy2 Though some cables state they are Quest 2 compatible, they probably aren't.

 

Like @PITTCANNA said, those could be some pretty useful solutions to double check when trying to use the Link cable.

 

If you stay stuck with the 3 loading dots, you might want to give the below a shot:

 

  • Make sure your GPU drivers and Windows10/11 is up to date.
  • Check your Oculus drivers for possible updates:
    1. Close the Oculus app.
    2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
    3. Enter C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers.
    4. Open oculus-driver.
    5. Open the Oculus app and then try to connect your headset again.

 

One more thing I recommend, is doing a clean install of Oculus Home with these steps:

  1. Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer.
  2. Disconnect your computer from the internet.
  3. Backup any necessary content.
  4. Reboot into Safe Mode.
  5. Uninstall Oculus Home using the Control Panel.
  6. Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files
  7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    • C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
  8. Restart your computer in normal mode.
  9. Reconnect your computer to the internet.
  10. Install Oculus Home again using the setup tool from our website here.
  11. Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset.
