Known Issues for Lone Echo & Echo Arena

Hi everyone,

Below is a list of known issues and possible work-arounds/troubleshooting tips that may help you in the interim while we work on getting them fixed in future hotfixes/patches. Please note that this list is not exhaustive, but lists out some of the most commonly-reported or highest impact bugs active in the current version of each game client.

This list will be updated as issues are resolved so you know which ones we'd like your help in verifying they're fixed; once verified, we'll remove it from the list.

KNOWN ECHO ARENA ISSUES

Critical

  • In order to launch Echo Arena from the Lone Echo app, players will need to add the stand-alone Echo Arena app to their Oculus Library. Once that's done, this will "entitle" your account and you can then boot Echo Arena from the Lone Echo main menu. You do not need to install the stand-alone Echo Arena app.
  • Some stats are currently being misreported (for example, wins being reported as losses or ties).

General

  • Sometimes the gates to the launch tubes are closed when entering a match. They usually reset after a team scores, at which point you can go through them and join your teammates.

Compatibility

  • [Seems to be resolved!] There seems to be an issue with the latest NVIDIA drivers causing a crash/app hang when starting or playing Echo Arena. If this is happening to you, please PM me with your DxDiag file so I can send it to NVIDIA for analysis, and please do a clean installation of the previous driver version (382.53) and try booting again. This may fix it. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
  • AMD users are having performance issues on older drivers. Please make sure you update your drivers as this should resolve the issue. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

KNOWN LONE ECHO ISSUES

Critical

  • Players may find that the transition from the Kronos II space station interior to the exterior results in a crash, "Low Memory/Out of Memory" error, or the "door" may not open like it should. You may be able to resolve this by restarting the Lone Echo game client and selecting "Load" at the main menu, by lowering your texture quality settings, or if you're comfortable with more advanced technical troubleshooting, some players have reported that increasing their Windows swap file size. We're working on a fix for these issues, but we hope this information will help you in the interim!
  • [RESOLVED in v3.89] Transitioning from the communications tutorial sometimes results in a crash.

Performance

  • If you're receiving a "low memory" warning, please turn your texture quality settings to the lowest available, as this will use less memory and reduce the likelihood of crashing and other performance issues.

Compatibility

  • Currently the AMD 290 has some known issues with Lone Echo and may crash during startup or while playing. We're continuing to work on optimizations to resolve these issues.
